ABOUT

We are a family run business with a deep connection to nature and focus on growing sustainable, high quality produce. We bring locally grown and harvested mushrooms direct to consumers and restaurants alike. Our goal is to provide top quality
and variety to our customers. 
We take great care and selection in our strains from the very first step, creating our own cultures here in our lab, to the final fruiting process in our grow houses. Every mushroom we produce is done so with the utmost care and intention to deliver the highest quality product again and again. Know our Roots

 George began his passion for all things nature, but especially mushrooms at a young age. He was always intrigued and fascinated by mycology and the vast mushroom networks through mycelium and their role in nature. This fascination led him to seek a degree in Organic Chemistry and Micro Biology at Keystone College, where he dove deeper into his learning and understanding of mushrooms though their mycology program. It was there that he met his wife Jennifer (Me!!), while I was not in the same field of study,  I did grow up with a similar appreciation and connection to the natural world. I spent many days foraging mushrooms with my childhood friend's family, where I learned to appreciate all that nature provides.  Together we began spending many days hiking together, photographing and learning more about local mushroom species and identifying many choice edibles. This fruited into a marriage of now 18 years with the addition of our 2 children, Gabe and Evie who both share the family affinity for all things mushroom.

​While we have spent the past 23 years appreciating and enjoying the fruits of our locally foraged bounties, and enjoying the experience of grow kits with the children, it has always been a dream of ours to produce our own mushrooms and share our knowledge and recipes with others, locally and beyond.  Here at 3rd Kingdom Mushrooms we are always looking at how we can reduce our waste, improve communities and provide knowledge and product variety in a way that is a positive experience for all.
